Residents of the East Coast of the United States are starting to assess the damage caused by the massive storm Sandy, which has left at least 45 people dead and some 8 million households and businesses without power. The storm caused major flooding in coastal towns and sparked a fire in Queens, New York, that destroyed 80 to 100 buildings. (AP)
