Obama: 'Fiscal-Cliff' Deal Makes Tax System Fairer

As the U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill to avert the so-called "fiscal cliff" of automatic spending cuts and tax increases, U.S. President Barack Obama said the deal will help prevent a relapse into recession. Obama is now expected to promptly sign the bill, which extends tax cuts for most Americans while raising taxes on the wealthiest 2 percent. (AP)
