Afghan President Hamid Karzai on January 9 held private talks in Washington with U.S. lawmakers, including Senate Republican Party leader Mitch McConnell and members of the Foreign Relations and Armed Services committees. Karzai is scheduled to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama on January 11 to discuss future U.S. involvement in Afghanistan. (AP)
