Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused the United States of trapping fugitive Edward Snowden at a Moscow airport by pressuring other countries not to shelter him. Speaking during a visit to Russia’s Gogland Island in the Gulf of Finland, Putin said he hopes Snowden will leave Russia, but did not indicate whether Russia could grant him asylum. Snowden, who leaked top-secret documents on U.S. government surveillance programs, has been staying in the transit zone of Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport for three weeks. (Reuters)
