Some sad news today that our colleague, Habibullo Batyrov, who had worked for RFE/RL's Uzbek Service in the Tajik capital Dushanbe, has died after a long illness.
Batyrov started working for RFE/RL in 1995 at a time when the civil war was raging in Tajikistan. He was known as a first-rate journalist.
