Baghdad Bomb Kills Five, Wounds 15 In Busy Street

BAGHDAD (Reuters) -- A car bomb has exploded in a busy street in central Baghdad, killing five people and wounding 15, police said.

The car was parked on the roadside next to a group of construction workers, they said, adding the death toll was initial and likely to rise.

Violence has fallen dramatically in Iraq to levels not seen since late 2003, but militants still retain the ability to carry out large scale bomb attacks.

Twenty people were killed by a car bomb in north Baghdad's Shaab district on March 26.
