Blast Derails Cargo Train In Daghestan

A blast has caused a train to derail in Russia's restive North Caucasus region.

Russia's state railway says several wagons of the cargo train went off the tracks after the blast near the regional capital, Makhachkala.

No casualties were reported.

Rail offices say the blast was caused by "an explosive device."

Authorities are struggling to put down a Muslim insurgency in the North Caucasus region, which includes Daghestan, Ingushetia, and Chechnya.
