Hunt Is On For Killer Of Former Kyrgyz Governor

Authorities in Kyrgyzstan are seeking the killers of the former governor of Naryn Province, Tynchtykbek Chekiev.

Chekiev was killed on August 14 in his hometown on the outskirts of the capital, Bishkek.

Police said attackers fired on Chekiev and his wife.

Chekiev was hit four times and died in the hospital. His wife was also wounded and remains in the hospital.

Chekiev was governor of Naryn from November 2009 until March 2010.
