At Least 10 Killed In India Train Crash

Two trains rammed into each other in India today, killing 10 and wounding at least 40.

Railway spokesman Anil Saxena told CNN that 19 people were in critical condition after the accident, which took place in the city of Kanpur.

Saxena said the "main culprits" for the accident were the heavy fog and power failures reported throughout northern India today.

Officials said a power outage stopped the first train and visibility issues caused the second train to hit it from behind.

India has a poor train safety record, with 117 accidents in 2008-2009.

Also today, a separate train crash in the same region left no casualties.
