Kurdish Rebels Kill Four Turkish Soldiers

Authorities say Kurdish rebels attacked a military command post in eastern Turkey overnight, killing four soldiers and injuring at least seven others.

The commander of the outpost near the town of Nazimiye in Tunceli Province was among those killed.

The authorities blamed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebels for the attack.

More than 40,000 people have been killed since the separatist rebels began their armed struggle against Turkish rule in 1984.
