MOSCOW -- Three more political activists have been released from police custody one day after they and dozens of other demonstrators were detained at an opposition gathering in downtown Moscow, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.
Two members of the banned National Bolshevik party, Kirill Klenov and Maksim Gromov, and the coordinator of Moscow's Council of Initiative Groups, Konstantin Kosyakin, were taken in along with dozens of other activists while taking part a "March of Dissent" at the capital's Triumphal (Triumfal'naya) Square that had not been sanctioned by city authorities.
A spokeswoman for the Russia's Union for Solidarity with Political Prisoners, Svetlana Levchishina, confirmed the afternoon release to RFE/RL.
Eduard Limonov, one of the leaders of the Other Russia coalition group that organized the gathering, and prominent Russian rights activist Lev Ponomarev, the leader of the For Human Rights movement, were among the detained at the same event.
They were released after filling out police paperwork soon after their August 31 detentions.
