Pakistani, Indian Prime Ministers To Hold Talks In Bhutan

Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani

The prime ministers of India and Pakistan will hold talks at a regional summit in Bhutan on April 29.

The foreign ministries of both Pakistan and India confirmed the planned talks but provided no information on their agenda.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are in Bhutan for a summit of South Asian leaders.

India halted all dialogue with Pakistan after the 2008 Mumbai attacks, which killed some 170 people and were blamed by India on Pakistan-based militants.

India and Pakistan have fought three wars since their independence from Britain in 1947 and keeping the dialogue between them alive is crucial for stability in the region.
