Wreckage left in the aftermath of twin suicide bomb attacks in Lahore

Demonstrators held rallies across Pakistan today to protest the July 1 suicide attacks which killed at least 42 people in Lahore.

Angry crowds blocked roads with burning tires and scuffled with police in Lahore as many shops there remained closed in a protest strike.

A partial strike is also being observed in Karachi and some other cities as protesters call on the goverment to do more to curb terrorism.

The July 1 bombings in Lahore targeted worshippers at the shrine to Sufi saint Data Ganj Bakhsh.
