MOSCOW -- The chief of Russia's FSB security service, Aleksandr Bortnikov, says 170 suspected militants have been arrested and 10 terror attacks prevented this year.
Bortnikov also told Russian media that the "perpetrators and organizers" of the March 29 suicide bomb attacks on the Moscow metro that killed 40 people and of suicide bombings two days later in Daghestan "have been identified."
He provided no further details.
He also said that 26 militants involved on a deadly November attack on a train traveling between Moscow and St. Petersburg had been "neutralized" and another 14 militants detained.
Chechen rebel leader Doku Umarov has claimed responsibility for both the November train attack and the recent Moscow metro bombings.
