Official results of the elections in Slovakia show center-right parties have won a parliamentary majority -- putting them in position to oust the ruling coalition and form a new government.
Nearly complete official results of the June 12 election show Prime Minister Robert Fico's left-leaning party winning the most votes, 35 percent -- or on target for 63 seats in the 150-seat parliament.
But the results show that three center-right opposition parties and an ethnic Hungarian party could together hold a majority of 78 seats -- putting them in position to potentially form a new ruling coalition.
The center-right has pledged to improve the business environment in Slovakia and reduce the government's budget deficit.
The election campaign also focused on strained ties with neighboring Hungary, which recently made it easier for ethnic Hungarians in Slovakia to acquire Hungarian citizenship.
