Suicide Car Bomber Kills At Least Six Afghan Police In Konduz Province

A suicide car bomb has targeted a convoy of Afghan and NATO security forces in the northern Afghan province of Konduz, killing at least six policemen and injuring 13 other people.

Mohammad Ayoub Haqyar, an administrator in the Imam Saheb district of Konduz, says security forces were patrolling his district when the suicide attacker rammed an explosives-laden car into their convoy.

Haqyar said the commander of the Afghan police unit was among those killed.

He said there were no deaths among foreign troops.

But he said a NATO vehicle was damaged and at least two U.S. soldiers were injured.

German and U.S. troops are stationed in Konduz Province as part of 140,000 international force in Afghanistan.
