U.S. Soldier Killed In Bomb Blast In Iraq

The U.S. military said a roadside bomb killed an American soldier north of Baghdad on April 12, the sixth U.S. soldier killed in Iraq in the last three days.

A statement only said the soldier was mortally wounded in a roadside bombing in Salahuddin Province. The soldier was in a convoy when the vehicle was hit.

Five U.S. soldiers were killed on April 10 in a suicide truck bombing in the northern city of Mosul.

It was the deadliest attack on U.S. forces in the country for more than a year.
