Pakistan is planning to build a recreational park in Abbottabad, the town where U.S. forces killed Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Officials in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, where the town is located, said the planned park will include a zoo, sports facilities, and water attractions.

Reports say plans call for the park to be constructed over five years at a cost of around $30 million.

Who will fund it was not immediately clear.

Officials denied that the project was intended to improve the town’s image in the wake of its association with bin Laden.

U.S. special forces raided bin Laden’s house and killed the Al-Qaeda chief in May 2011.

The house has since been demolished.
