Afghanistan Breaks Into World Cricket's Top 10

Afghanistan's national cricket team has broken into the world's top 10 list for the first time.

The International Cricket Council announced on December 27 that Afghanistan had moved up two places to become number 10 in the world rankings.

Afghanistan's move into cricket's elite comes two days after it beat Zimbabwe to win a one-day international match by 49 runs.

Bowler Amir Hamza was the star for Afghanistan with four wickets. The Afghanistan-Zimbabwe series will continue on December 29.

Australia is ranked first in the world in cricket, followed by India and South Africa.

Pakistan is ranked two spots ahead of Afghanistan, at number eight in the world rankings.
