Suicide Bomb Kills District Police Chief, Two Others In Southern Afghanistan

A suicide bomber has killed a district police chief and two of his bodyguards in Afghanistan's southern province of Kandahar.

The provincial governor's spokesman, Samim Khepolwak, said the bomber killed police chief Abdul Hanaf and his two bodyguards when he detonated his explosives inside a police headquarters in Arghistan district late on September 7.

Six other policemen were injured in the attack.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
