Afghan President Hamid Karzai has called on Indian businesses to invest in his country.
Speaking in Mumbai, India, on November 10, he told delegates at an Indian industry event that they "need not be shy" when thinking about Afghanistan.
He said they should look at the successful precedent of Chinese investments, noting that "Chinese businesses were there long before you came, five or six years before."
Indian state companies have invested billions of dollars in Afghanistan since the Taliban regime's ouster in 2001, but private firms have lagged behind amid security concerns.
Karzai arrived in India on November 9 for a five-day visit focused upon promoting investment.
