Gul Nesa, a 19-year-old Afghan woman, missed getting most of her basic education while her family was displaced during years of war. After RFE/RL's Radio Free Afghanistan reported her story, Bamiyan Province officials agreed to create a new literacy center where Gul Nesa and some 50 other young women are learning to read and write.
