Afghan President Hamid Karzai has departed for Brussels ahead of a meeting there with U.S. Secretary of State of State John Kerry and senior Pakistani officials to discuss the faltering Afghan peace process.
Aimal Faizi, Karzai's chief spokesman, said the meeting has been arranged to repair ties between Kabul and Islamabad.
Tensions between the two neighbors have soured recently over border disputes and the failing reconciliation process.
Faizi on April 22 said Pakistan had failed to deliver on its promises regarding the reconciliation process.
"Our message to Pakistan is enough is enough," Faizi said. "This time we will tell Pakistan that our people's patience is running out and we can't wait for Pakistan to deliver on Afghan peace promises."
The meetings will include Pakistan's army chief, General Ashfaq Kayani, and Afghan Defense Minister Bismillah Khan Mohammadi.
