The Pakistani military is calling on Afghanistan to act against militants who attack Pakistan.
Pakistani military spokesman Asim Saleem Bajwa told reporters in Islamabad on July 1 that the leader of the Pakistani Taliban is hiding on the Afghan border from Islamabad's ongoing military operation in North Waziristan and that Kabul "needs to do something about it."
Bajwa said the presence of the head of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Mullah Fazlullah, on Afghan soil "has been raised at every level" with Kabul.
The spokesman also said Pakistan's two-week old operation in the North Waziristan tribal area would clear all militants from what is considered to be the stronghold of groups such as the Pakistani Taliban, the Haqqani network, and the Afghan Taliban.
Bajwa said the operation has killed 376 militants, so far. He said many were foreigners, especially Uzbeks. The information is impossible to independently confirm.
