Canada's Democratic Institutions Minister Maryam Monsef came to the country as an 11-year-old refugee whose family was fleeing from Taliban militants in Afghanistan. Earlier this year, a talented disabled artist from near the Afghan capital, Kabul, drew Monsef's portrait, and said she was her "idol." A Global News Canada reporter recently caught up with the minister in Ottawa to show her RFE/RL's story about Rubaba. She was clearly moved. (RFE/RL's Radio Free Afghanistan/Global News Canada)
