Afghan Provincial Intelligence Chief Targeted In Suicide Bombing

Officials in Afghanistan's northern province of Faryab said a suicide bomber today targeted the convoy of the province's intelligence chief.

A young boy was killed in the attack, which occurred in the provincial capital of Maimanah.

The bomber detonated his explosives next to a car carrying General Sayed Ahmad Sadat, the head of the National Directorate of Security in the province.

Sadat and at least four of his bodyguards were wounded.
