The United States strongly condemned a series of missile strikes on Syria's second city of Aleppo.
Activists says at least 30 people were killed and 150 wounded in the latest attack on February 22 which came days after another attack killed another 30, including 15 children.
State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland called the attacks "the latest demonstrations of the Syrian regime's ruthlessness and its lack of compassion for the Syrian people it claims to represent."
Nuland also pointed to the brutality of the attacks to reiterate calls by President Barack Obama for President Bashar al-Assad to step down.
Nuland also noted that the United States has stepped up its humanitarian aid "in close coordination" with Syrian activists, contributing $385 million to help displace Syrian refugees and citizens inside the country.
