Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambaev is in Kazakhstan for talks on bilateral energy cooperation.
Atambaev is meeting with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbaev and Prime Minister Karim Masimov on November 7.
The two presidents will chair the fourth session of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz High Interstate Commission, which will focus on further development of cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
Atambaev and Nazarbaev are expected to discuss the possibility of expanding supplies of electricity from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan.
Kazakhstan is the second biggest oil producer in the former Soviet Union, after Russia, while Kyrgyzstan has few energy resources.
It is expected that Atambaev and Nazarbaev will discuss options of electricity delivery from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyzstan is expected to join the Customs Union, which now includes Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Russia, by the end of this year.
