Opposition activists took to the streets of Minsk after elections in Belarus gave President Alyaksandr Lukashenka another five-year term of office. The protest, late on October 11, came as results showed Lukashenka had won 83.49 percent of the vote. Opposition leaders had called on people to boycott the election, saying it would not be free or fair. (RFE/RL's Belarusian Service)
