Belarusian Online Fraudster Sentenced To Prison In U.S.

Belarusian national Dmitry M. Naskovets, who created and operated an online business which facilitated identity theft, has been sentenced in a New York City court room to 33 months in prison for conspiring to commit wire and credit card fraud.

Together with Sergey Semashko, another Belarusian national, Naskovets created Callservice.biz, a site which provided online fraudsters with English-language calling services to deceive banks in the United States in exchange for a share of the profits from the fraudulent transactions.

According to the U.S. District Attorney's office, the site helped over 2,000 identity thieves commit over 5,000 acts of fraud.

Naskovets was arrested in 2010 in the Czech Republic as part of a multinational operation and extradited. He pled guilty in February 2011.

Semashko was arrested in Belarus.
