Dozens Killed In Baghdad Bombings

A series of bombs in Shi'ite areas of Baghdad has killed at least 28 people and wounded at least 100.

The bombs detonated in Sadr City, Habibiya, Qahira, and at least two other districts of the capital.

Bombings have increased since the start of the year with a wave of suicide attacks against Shi'ite targets and security forces as Sunni Islamist insurgents step up their campaign to revive widespread sectarian violence in Iraq.

Meanwhile, the country’s Oil Ministry says that a bomb has exploded and disabled a pipeline carrying oil products from the country's largest refinery of Beiji to the northern province of Niniveh.

There were no injuries in the bombing.
