Bosnian Court Sentences 2 Men For War Crimes

A Bosnian court has convicted two former Bosnian army officers of inhumanely treating Croats in a wartime prison camp.

Nisvet Gasal, who ran the stadium camp in the central Bosnian town of Bugojno, received a six-year term, while former Bugojno police commander Senad Dautovic will be imprisoned for 13 years.

The court said on November 22 that more than 300 Bosnian Croats were imprisoned in 1993-1994 at the camp, where they were "regularly exposed to inhumane treatment and taken to forced labor on frontlines."

Also on November 22, Bosnian prosecutors said they detained eight Muslims suspected of crimes against Serbs and Croats held in three makeshift camps during the 1992-1995 war.
