Boston Marathon Bomber Moved To Colorado High-Security Prison

Convicted Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev

Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been transferred to a high-security prison in Colorado.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons says the 21-year-old was moved this week to a penitentiary in Florence.

The facility houses more than 400 inmates, including some of the United States' most notorious criminals such as September 11, 2001, conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui.

Tsarnaev was sentenced to death on June 24 for the 2013 attack at the Boston Marathon finish line that killed three people and wounded more than 260 others.

He acknowledged that he had carried out the bombing with his older brother and apologized to his victims.

It is expected that Tsarnaev will eventually sit on federal death row in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Earlier this month, he filed a motion demanding a new trial.
