Six British Soldiers Missing In Afghanistan

Britain's Defense Ministry says six British soldiers are presumed to have been killed by an explosion that hit their armored vehicle in southern Afghanistan.

The ministry said the soldiers were on security patrol in southern Helmand Province when the blast hit their vehicle on March 6.

In London, British Prime Minister David Cameron said the incident is "a reminder of the huge price" that Britain is paying for helping to bring security and stability to Afghanistan and the sacrifices British troops are making in that effort.

If confirmed, the deaths would bring the number of British soldiers killed in Afghanistan since 2001 to at least 404.

The last British soldier to have been reported killed in Afghanistan died on February 13 in Helmand.
