Police surrounded a house in San Bernardino, California, following a gun battle that killed two suspects in a mass shooting on December 2. The suspects, a man and a woman, were surrounded and killed in their getaway vehicle hours after the attack. The heavily armed assailants had opened fire at a party at a social services center, killing 14 people and wounding 17. A bomb squad later arrived at the scene of the shootings to defuse what were thought to be explosive devices. (Reuters)
