British film director Ken Loach has won the Palme d'Or for Best Picture at the Cannes Film Festival for his drama "I, Daniel Blake."
It's the second Palme D’Or in a decade for Loach who turns 80 next month.
The drama focuses on an elderly carpenter and his struggle with bureaucracy to receive benefits after suffering a heart attack.
The Iranian film "The Salesman" by Oscar-winning filmmaker Asghar Farhadi received two awards, for Best Screenplay and Best Actor, won by Iranian actor Shahab Hosseini.
The film is about a married couple thrown into turmoil after the wife is assaulted at their home.
"This prize belongs to my people and I give it to them with all my heart," Hosseini said at the awards ceremony on May 22.
