At least 17 people were reported to have been killed in a fire at a market in southern China.
In a statement on February 6, local officials said the fire broke out the day before in an upper floor of the market in the southern Guangdong Province.
Five people were pulled from the building as the blaze was brought under control late on February 5.
Rescuers were still searching throughout the night for people trapped in the building.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
