Crackdown On Belarusian Protests Continues

Detentions could be observed amid a heavy deployment of police in the Belarusian capital, Minsk, on November 8, as a new protest against authoritarian leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka was taking place. Demonstrations have been going on since the August 9 presidential election, in which Lukashenka claimed victory despite opposition claims it was rigged.
