Crimea's chief prosecutor Natalia Poklonska has warned Crimean Tatars that their self-government body, the Mejlis, will be "liquidated" if it engages in "extremist" activities. On May 4, she told Mejlis Chairman Refat Chubarov that his organization would be banned under Russian law if it failed to comply with the warning. The move comes amid protests by Crimean Tatars over the authorities' refusal to allow their leader, Mustafa Dzhemilev, into the region. (Courtesy video from Mejlis via RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service)
