Czech Republic Cancels Tender For Nuke

The Czech energy group CEZ has announced it is canceling a tender to build two more reactors for the Temelin nuclear power plant.

CZE spokesman Ladislav Kriz said on April 10 that the decision had been communicated to the two bidders for the project.

Kriz said CEZ had discussed its plan to cancel the tender with the government of Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka.

The two bidders were a consortium that included Russia's Rosatom teaming with two Czech companies and U.S. company Westinghouse.

The Temelin plant, located near the Czech Republic's border with Austria, already has two working reactors
