At Least 5 Killed In Blast At Balochistan Rail Station

A destroyed tea stall is seen at the scene following an overnight bomb explosion at the Sibi railway station in southwestern province of Balochistan late on June 27.

Police in Pakistan say at least five people have been killed in a bomb explosion at a railway station in the southwestern Balochistan Province.

Police said some 20 other people were injured in the blast, which occurred late in the evening local time on June 27 at the station in Sibbi city.

The bomb is reported to have detonated by a vendor’s stall, minutes after a train arrived at the station.

There has so far been no claim of responsibility.

Balochistan sees frequent violence linked to conflicts involving ethnic Baloch separatists, Taliban militants, and sectarian feuds between majority Sunni and Shi’ite Muslims.
