A suicide bomber targeting a U.S. military convoy in eastern Afghanistan has killed at least 12 people, including two international coalition soldiers.
A spokesman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) confirmed that two of its soldiers were killed in the blast in Paktia Province.
ISAF did not reveal the nationalities of the soldiers killed.
The Afghan Interior Ministry said at least 9 children and one Afghan policeman were killed when the suicide bomber on a motorbike detonated his explosives at an outside market as a U.S. military convoy was passing.
Local officials said the blast occurred at midday just as the local school had let students out for lunch.
Also on June 3, seven civilians including women were killed in the eastern Laghman Province when their vehicle hit a landmine.
