Denmark Goes To The Polls

Voters in Denmark are going to the polls in parliamentary elections.

Opinion polls suggested the center-right coalition of Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, which has ruled the country for 10 years, would lose to the center-left, or "Red Bloc," led by Helle Thorning-Schmidt, who would become Denmark's first female prime minister.

The pre-election campaign has been dominated by the economic downturn.

Thorning-Schmidt has proposed making everyone in Denmark work 12 minutes more per day.

She argues an extra hour of productivity each week would help kick-start growth.
