Russia Says Airport Bomber Was From Caucasus

Flowers left on the floor in memory of those killed at Domodedovo

Russia's federal Investigative Committee say the Domodedovo airport suicide bombing was carried out by a 20-year-old man from the Caucasus and was particularly aimed at killing foreigners.

The federal Investigative Committee made the announcement in a website statement today.

Spokesman Vladimir Markin said "it was by no means an accident that the act of terror was committed in the international arrivals hall."

The suicide bombing on January 24 at Moscow's busiest airport killed 35 people and wounded 120 more.

The statement is the first official indication since the blast that authorities have made progress in their probe of the attack.
