Egyptian security officials say a suicide car bombing has killed three soldiers and a police officer at a checkpoint outside a coastal city in the Sinai Peninsula.
The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the attack happened on October 10 outside the city of al-Arish.
The bomber reportedly detonated the explosives while the soldiers and police officer were searching the car.
Five other people were wounded.
Islamist militants have been attacking security forces in the Sinai for years, but the frequency of the attacks has dramatically grown since the ouster of Islamist President Muhammad Morsi by the army in July.
