Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has urged his Egyptian counterpart Muhammad Morsi to help with efforts to end the bloody conflict in Syria.
Zardari made the remarks on March 18 during talks with Morsi in Islamabad.
Pakistani presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar said in a statement after the talks that Zardari had called for parties to "work together to end the bloodshed in Syria and to find a peaceful solution to the crisis."
Morsi was in Pakistan on a one-day visit as part of a South Asian tour that will also take him to India.
Morsi's visit is the first by an Egyptian leader since Gamal Abdel Nasser in the 1960s.
Morsi is due to arrive in India later on March 18, where he will meet with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and business leaders in an effort to bolster economic cooperation.
