EU, Armenia Sign New Financing Agreements For Reforms

The European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy, Stefan Fuele, and Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian have signed two financing agreements between the EU and Armenia.

Totaling 43 million euros, the agreements signed in Yerevan on September 27 will focus on institution building.

In a statement, the European Commission said the two new financing agreements will help support sectors such as customs administration, quality infrastructure, food safety and e-governance.

EU bilateral assistance to Armenia under the European Neighborhood Partnership Instrument is 157 million euros for 2011-2013, double the amount for the previous period.
