The bodies of at least 34 migrants have been found at two separate locations on the Aegean coast after their boats capsized as they tried to reach the Greek island of Lesbos.
Turkish officials said on January 5 that the bodies had washed up on beaches at Ayvalik and Dikili.
Reports said the dead included women and children.
The Dogan news agency reported that the migrants in both incidents died after their rubber boats overturned in rough waters.
Turkish coast guards were dispatched to search for possible survivors. Eight migrants were rescued.
There was no immediate information on the migrants' nationalities.
Dikili and Ayvalik, about 50 kilometers away, are crossing points for migrants trying to make their way to Greece.
Some 850,000 migrants crossed into Greece from Turkey last year.
