Final Draw For Euro 2012 Held In Kyiv

UEFA volunteers jump in front of the National Palace of Arts in Kyiv ahead of the December 2 draw.

The final draw for next year's European football championship has taken place in Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Ukraine is jointly co-hosting the Euro 2012 tournament with neighboring Poland next summer.

Ukraine will play in Group D along England, France and Sweden.

Poland, the other co-host, was placed in Group A, together with Russia and two former European champions, Greece and Czech Republic.

Current European and world champions Spain will face Italy, Ireland, and Croatia in Group C.

Group B will see confrontations between three former European champions -- Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark -- plus Euro 2004 runner-up Portugal.

The championship, which runs from June 9 to July 1, will take place in the Polish cities of Warsaw, Wroclaw, Gdansk and Poznan, and the Ukrainian cities of Donetsk, Lviv, Kharkiv and Kyiv.

Kyiv will host the final.
