A soccer player from Tajikistan was banned for two years by the Asian Football Confederation on November 13 after testing positive for a performance-enhancing stimulant during the men’s football competition at the Asian Games.
Khurshed Beknazarov, a defender for Tajikistan’s team, tested positive for the banned substance methylhaxanamine after a September 14 match against Singapore.
He had been provisionally suspended after the positive test and was disqualified from the Asian Games.
The test results were forwarded to authorities in Tajikistan as well as to world soccer’s governing body, FIFA; the Asian Football Confederation; and the World Anti-Doping Agency.
